Stop-mechanism in Elcertificate system useless

null

Today, the Swedish Energy Agency published their recommendation of a stop-mechanism for the electricity certificate system. The report was a large surprise and disappointment and we are deeply worried about potential consequenses. A stop in 2030 means in practise no stop-mechanism at all resulting in a flooding of the market and prices close to zero. A decision in line with this recommendation would put future investments in Swedish renewable industry at risk and thereby the ambition of a 100% renewable system. We now hope the future government will see and understand the potential consequenses and choose to take a different path.

In our quarterly report on Nordic renewable market and Elcertificates, sent out today we have included more info on the agency report and our thoughts on effects on market and prices.

This report will be available in English on Friday and sent out to our subsribers and customers. For more info and a sample report, please contact mia@bodeckerpartners.com.
